Job Summary: | The University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU SOM) seeks a dynamic and visionary GME Director of Wellbeing and Experience to serve under the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education/Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Designated Institutional Official (ACGME DIO). The GME Director of Wellbeing and Experience will lead efforts to enhance resident and fellow flourishing thriving and improve the resident and fellow training years through innovative wellbeing strategies coaching programs and grassroot level work with residents and fellows to enhance their workplace experience across our many training sites. This individual will also be responsible for working closely with residency and fellowship program directors to develop and enhance local wellbeing and trainee experience at the program level. The work of the GME Director of Wellbeing and Experience centers around identifying and addressing specific priorities related to professional well-being and fulfillment of our 1300 resident and fellow trainees. This position will be instrumental in driving innovative approaches to support the holistic growth and success of trainees in alignment with CU SOMs mission to cultivate exceptional and well-rounded physicians and leaders. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader excellent listener and a clear communicator willing to try novel approaches to fostering resilience and improving the day-to-day experience of residents and fellows. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership in Wellbeing (30%) Utilize innovative technology and data-driven approaches to enhance wellbeing initiatives. Integrate flourishing and thriving frameworks into wellbeing initiatives drawing from positive psychology resilience training and adult learning theories. Partner with the School of Medicine Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Chief Wellbeing Officer the School of Medicine Associate Dean for Faculty Development program directors faculty and institutional leaders to embed innovative wellbeing strategies into the fabric of GME training. Coaching and Mentorship Initiatives (20%) Implement coaching and mentoring models for residents and fellows to enhance professional growth career development and work-life integration. Develop a system for longitudinal coaching and mentoring engagement which fosters self-reflection self-efficacy and adaptive skills for success in medical training and beyond. Be accessible to all departmental members for discussion of faculty wellbeing and professional fulfillment issues as faculty wellbeing is related to trainee wellbeing. Foster a culture of inclusion within GME programs ensuring equitable access to resources around coaching wellbeing and mentorship. Institutional and ACGME Compliance & Support (30%) Serve as a wellbeing and resident experience expert in alignment with ACGME Common Program Requirements including efforts to address trainee workload duty hours and mental health. Collaborate with institutional leaders to measure assess and improve wellbeing metrics across residency and fellowship programs. Serve as the GME representative to the Council of Residents and Fellows in Training (CRaFT) Serve as the Chair of the GME Wellbeing Subcommittee Scholarship and Continuous Improvement (10%)

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor Senior Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor: Currently hold or ability to obtain a faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor at the University of Colorado. Terminal degree (MD DO PhD EdD or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of experience in graduate medical education leadership (e.g. Program Director Associate Program Director GME Administrator or Faculty Leader). Associate Professor: Currently hold or ability to obtain a faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor at the University of Colorado. Terminal degree (MD DO PhD EdD or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of experience in graduate medical education leadership (e.g. Program Director Associate Program Director GME Administrator or Faculty Leader). Professor: Currently hold or ability to obtain a faculty appointment at the rank of Professor at the University of Colorado. Terminal degree (MD DO PhD EdD or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of experience in graduate medical education leadership (e.g. Program Director Associate Program Director GME Administrator or Faculty Leader). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ACGME requirements and GME program administration. A record of scholarship and leadership in medical education resilience science or physician wellbeing. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership problem-solving and communication skills with a track record of implementing wellbeing coaching or resident experience innovations. Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation. Ability to work collaboratively with institutional leaders hospital administration faculty and trainees. Demonstrated ability to design implement and evaluate wellbeing and trainee experience programs in complex medical education environments. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for faculty and trainee development. | |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $50000 to $100000 or the equivalent of 0.3 in FTE support.
