Nature of Work

The fundamental reason thisposition exists is to supervise a group of workers engaged in semi-skilledpiping and concrete maintenance in this class have supervision over moderate-sized crews whichmay include equipment operators as well as laborers on unskilled orsemi-skilled manual operations. The workresponsibilities of this position include: supervising and monitoring the pipeand concrete crews and performing administrative duties. Responsibility includes effectively laying outwork and maintaining work schedules and giving technical instructions asrequired. Work is received in the formof specific assignments and frequent conferences with a superior and isinspected occasionally while in process and upon completion. The incumbents are supervised by the StreetConstruction Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2)years of concrete and/or pipe experience with at least one (1) year ofexperience in the field supervision of laborers and construction workers.

NOTE: Qualifying education training and experiencethat provide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to perform the jobwill be considered.

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work weekends nights and oddhours in order to complete projects. Musthave and maintain a valid Drivers License and insurable driving record inorder to operate City vehicles. On-call24 hours as needed for special events projects and emergencies.
