Job Summary
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $62868 - $72298.
The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Policy Planning and Measurement (PPM) collaborates with every ACS division to guide systems analysis and strategic systems improvement; assure quality of practice at ACS and its provider agencies; professionalize the frontline workforce; bring knowledge into practice; provide research and analytic support; and plan and develop new programs and policies.
The Office of Training and Workforce Development with the Division of Policy Planning and Measurement at ACS provides foundational and continuous learning opportunities for child welfare and juvenile justice direct service staff and supervisors and leaders.
Reporting to a Deputy Director of Supervision and Coaching the Community Coordinator will be devoted primarily to supporting projects that support the ongoing implementation of a coaching throughout ACS and its provider agencies. The Coordinator will provide support and coordination toward the development and implementation of a coaching model within New York Citys child welfare systems. The position will provide support to the Coaching Team Senior Director of Supervision and Coaching ACS Workforce Institute Leadership CUNY consultants and Provider Agencies to assure effective communication and the timeliness of deliverables.
Responsibilities of this position include:
-Support efforts to promote and establish buy-in for the vision and planning related to building a coaching culture within NYCs child welfare systems that includes outreach and relationship building with child welfare supervisory and managerial staff.
-Coordinate all research activities being done on behalf of the Supervision and Coaching team to support the development and implementation of coaching throughout the New York Citys child welfare systems.
-Facilitate a monthly 60-minute workshop geared towards recruiting and retaining learners for the advanced coaching program.
-Coordinate the planning feedback and buy-in activities of the department from work plan development through complete implementation of deliverables.
-Assist with recruitment and coordination of implementation related workshops
-Maintain tracking reports.
-Support the coordination process of consultant partners within the CUNY system as well as other partners in the community and within other ACS departments to facilitate the new ACS Learning model.
-Coordinate data gathering and recruitment efforts that includes public speaking as needed and occasionally to large groups regarding the coaching initiatives.
-Provide day-to-day support to the Coaching Team as needed.
-Attend meetings as required and necessary to fulfill the needs of the department and to support the timely meeting of the deliverables.
-Attend learning events and meetings as indicated.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
