Producer Reporting Analyst (6-Month Contract)The Producer Reporting Analyst will support in all aspects of the producer and guilds reporting and music royalty International Distribution business acquires distribution rights from a variety of sources (in-house commissioning producing activities as well as third party content/IP owners) and aims to maximize the monetisation of those rights across all platforms globally. As part of this service of creating value for rights International Distribution is required to report quarterly to producers and IP PRA will be responsible for preparation of reports for each producer clear and effective communication when sending reports out to partners and preparing the purchase orders to process the royalty payments for our content is a new role that will report to the Senior Director Finance International Distribution and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per anticipated salary range for this role is $65000 - 70000 per year with final compensation determined by experience and Responsibilities & DutiesGuilds & CMF ReportingReview acquisition agreement and derive all necessary information required to prepare the reportsKnowledge of residuals calculation and reporting for Canadian and American guilds and unions (WGC WGA SAG and ACTRA/ UBCP) is a pre-requisite for the roleUnderstanding CMF envelope & reporting as well as other Canadian equity funds (Shaw Rocket Fund Bell Fund etc.) would be an assetMaintain an up-to-date list of all shows requiring guilds CMF and partner reportingMaintain the annual calendar of producer reporting deadlinesUphold positive relationships with Guilds & CMFAny other duties as assignedMusic Royalty AdministrationLead the negotiation of the Music Publishing dealsWorking with postproduction on cue sheetsApprove and ensure the correct SOCAN IPI number is usedSubmitting cue sheets to our music administratorWork with the Administrator and keep them updated on title sales/territories so they can follow up and chase down royaltiesManagement of Third-Party Distribution RelationshipsCreate and maintain the list of all third-party distribution relationshipsEnsure all reports are being received on time and follow up with distributors in case of delaysUpdate rights management in case some or all rights become available for Blue Ant distributionOther duties as assignedQualificationsStrong Microsoft Suite skills including ExcelExperience in similar role is preferable media industry experience is an assetStrong customer service focus to communicate effectively with producers guilds and internal teams - AR AP Rights Management and sales teamGood interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in sales operations and other departmentsStrong sense of accountability critical thinking and decision-making abilityBachelors degree in accounting finance or business administration is preferable for future growth but not a must for this specific role. Accounting designation is a plus (CPA CMA CA MBA or CFA)Knowledge and experience with managing AI rights would be an assetFlexibility in responding to departments needs and learning new businesses and processesAbility to work independently on tasks assignedAmbition to ultimately grow beyond this role and take on progressively more challenging roles within the teamExcellent time management skillsStrong ability to work with teams organization-wideStrong communication analytical and critical thinking skills
