This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO) a business group within HIIs Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations platforms and logistics and intelligence operations.

Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Research Analyst to support U.S. Navy surface AntiSubmarine Warfare (ASW) readiness at Fleet Activities Yokosuka in Japan. This key position provides advanced technical analysis acoustic assessment and operational insights that strengthen surface combatant ASW performance across the Western Pacific region. The Senior Analyst will contribute to fleet training exercise evaluation and readiness improvement through datadriven ASW analysis and expert technical guidance.

What You Will Do:

Lead technical analysis supporting fleet exercises data analysis training events and operational ASW assessments
Conduct advanced acoustic analysis using sonar system data recordings and exercise outputs
Maintain modern ASW tactical knowledge by attending conferences/meetings and provide training and/or briefings as required for familiarization event review data collection and other requirements

Develop recommendations that enhance surface ship sensor performance and ASW tactical execution
Support U.S. Navy surface ASW readiness events evaluations and training activities across the Western Pacific
Assist with planning data collection execution and postevent reporting in alignment with program requirements
Produce technical documentation analytical reports and administrative materials
Provide coordination and logistical support for ASW assessment activities and training exercises
Support surge analysis or mission demands based on operational requirements

Serve as a member of the Mobile Training Team (MTT) as a subject matter expert (SME) on assigned Surface Ship systems
Mentor personnel in sonar operations maintenance considerations and ASW tactical employment

What Were Looking For:

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
  • Experience in leadership supervision training or mentoring of technical personnel
  • Experience with surface ship ASW systems sensor operations and maintenance
  • Experience supporting regional surface warfare training readiness or fleet evaluation activities in the Western Pacific
  • Proven experience in acoustic analysis and ASW operations/tactics
  • Strong analytical documentation and technical communication skills
  • Ability to support fastpaced forwarddeployed Navy operations
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance

Preferred Experience:

Bachelors degree
U.S. Navy School training for sonar system operation and maintenance
Navy training in surface ship combat systems and ASW tactical concepts
Experience supporting fleet training certification or readiness events within the Seventh Fleet
Experience working with Navy technical training or operational organizations
Handson experience with ASW sonar systems acoustic analysis tools or tactical decision aids
Background in operational research related to Navy ASW missions

Minimum 15 years U.S. Navy sonar system experience or equivalent experience supporting Navy sonar systems in warfare centers shipyards or defense industry roles
