The College of Education at California State University San Marcos invites applications for instructors to teach HHS: Introduction to Personal Health and Wellness a 3-unit course offered at High Tech High School (San Marcos California). This is a dual enrolled course offered to high school students for college credit. This course Introduces the basic principles of health and wellness from a holistic perspective to enhance self-awareness and personal wellness behaviors. Subjects covered include mental emotional physical and socio-environmental dimensions of health sexuality and relationships nutrition and physical fitness use and abuse of drugs health care services and current health problems.
Minimum qualifications:
- A masters degree in kinesiology public health human development or other health and wellness related disciplines.
- Per California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Experience working with high school students
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
- AnticipatedHiring Salary Range: $5507 - $8000 per full-time month
The salary schedule information for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
- CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer A - AY: $5507 - $6677 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary RangeLecturer B - AY: $6221 - $13224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range commensurate with education and experience.
