In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes the Campus Center at Rinker provides programs resources and services to cultivate students connection to the Chapman community investment in school spirit and pride and overall success as a Chapman student. The Lead Campus Center Assistant is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of services and resources provided through the Campus Center at Rinker with an emphasis on ensuring a positive experience for students and other members of the Chapman community and modeling exemplary job performance for other Campus Center Assistants. Along with professional staff and in collaboration with the entire Campus Center at Rinker team the Lead Campus Center Assistant creates and maintains a clean and welcoming environment that contributes to the University by building community increasing students pride in their university and ensuring facility operations are organized and supportive of evolving student needs. There are three primary functions of the job: reception desk management facility operations and community-building programming. All Lead Campus Center Assistants are employees in the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.

Responsibilities
General Lead Campus Center Assistant Responsibilities Assist professional staff with Campus Center Assistant onboarding training supervision and evaluation. Assist professional staff with enforcement of staff expectations and facility policies and procedures. Assist professional staff with internal team building development and recognition opportunities. Assist professional staff with developing and implementing Campus Center programming. Model exemplary work pertaining to each of the categories below providing a standard for others to follow. Reception Desk Management Proactively greet guests as they approach reception desks. Provide excellent service to guests in the Campus Center at Rinker. Provide accurate information regarding Chapman University and the Campus Center at Rinker. Gather and confirm information to provide guests with a full and complete response to their need(s). Wear required name badge and meet standards of dress to present: a positive image of Chapman University employees specifically the Campus Center at Rinker team. an image of an individual who understands themselves to be responsible for tracking the safety of the building environment serving faculty/staff/student guests cultivating a welcoming and engaging environment and maintaining facility tidiness. Maintain a clean and professional desk environment minimizing clutter and prioritizing organization. Limit desk presence to other Campus Center employees (non-employees arent permitted behind desks). Facility Operations Prepare facility for daily opening/closing by following established procedures. Complete hourly active laps of the facility to identify respond to and report concerns pertaining to safety cleanliness maintenance/repair and functionality of provided resources/services and ensure the facility presents a welcoming environment. Perform routine cleaning of high-touch surfaces and collect/dispose of trash during each shift to ensure regular attention to cleanliness. Organize and return furniture and equipment to its designated/intended location. Ensure music programming is limited to non-explicit and licensed content. Ensure video wall provides engaging and relevant entertainment. Provide basic support to help event coordinators connect to in-house A/V system. Assist with student organization locker reservations and maintenance. Identify themes for and install Life at Rinker and Student Success gallery exhibits. Community-Building Programming Plan and implement events and programming that promote community-building and school pride. Ensure events and programming are planned with consideration of Rinker class schedules. Avoid conflicts with events sponsored by Rinker academic programs and student organizations. Ensure all programming is facilitated in compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensure collection and maintenance of accurate rosters and experience surveys for all programs. Other Responsibilities Assist in other ways with all of the above as determined by supervisor. Understand established campus and facility emergency response procedures. Follow emergency response procedures when responding to emergencies including notifying professional staff immediately. Document all accidents incidents and emergencies resulting in personal injury facility damage or theft by completing an Accident/Incident Report. Offer but do not administer basic first aid supplies as needed. Promote Campus Center at Rinker programs and services. Promote the use of Campus Center at Rinker virtual engagement platforms (e.g. Panther Connect) Attend all scheduled Campus Center at Rinker staff meetings and training sessions. Serve as a representative for the Campus Center at Rinker at events as determined by supervisor. Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs services experiences and resources as determined by supervisor.

Required Qualifications
Because of the student-facing nature of this role remote work is not permitted. Student employees are encouraged to use sick pay when it is needed and available. Commitment to teamwork customer service collaboration conflict resolution and providing service to students. Ability to exercise initiative work independently and hold high standards of dependability and accountability. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels both inside and outside the University. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong time management skills including punctuality to arrive at shifts on-time and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions distractions and fluctuating workload. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Possess attention to detail the ability to accept direction willingness to work and learn from colleagues and supervisor and commitment to apply feedback to work performance. Willingness to accept direction and changes to responsibilities as determined by supervisor. Courteous and confident demeanor when delegating and holding others accountable. Ability to learn and use standard office equipment and various software programs.
