Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is one of Canadas top 25 research hospitals and an Academic Health Sciences Centre affiliated with Queens University. We are proud to deliver specialized familycentred neonatal care while supporting education discovery and clinical excellence.

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)a highly skilled collaborative environment providing care to some of our most vulnerable patients.

About the NICU

Approximately 400 babies are admitted to the NICU each year where care is delivered 24 hours a day by an interdisciplinary team of physicians nurses nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists. The NICU team also supports highrisk mothers prior to delivery ensuring families are informed supported and actively involved in care planning.

At Kingston General Hospital the NICU provides Level I Level II and Level III neonatal care:

  • Level I: Neonatal resuscitation postnatal care and stabilization of newborns
  • Level II: Care for moderately ill infants or those recovering from serious illness
  • Level III: Care for critically ill extremely premature infants and those requiring surgical intervention

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the NICU you will:

  • Deliver comprehensive evidencebased nursing care to neonates requiring Level IIII support
  • Collaborate closely with the interprofessional care team to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide compassionate familycentred care and education to parents and caregivers
  • Participate in quality improvement education and professional practice initiatives within the unit

Qualifications

  • Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Neonatal or critical care nursing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and familycentred care
  • Strong communication teamwork and criticalthinking skills
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check required
