The Tŝilhqotin Nation has always asserted its inherent right to self-government including jurisdiction over its families and children. As part of this journey Tŝilhqotin Nidlin (We are Tŝilhqotin) was created to exercise jurisdiction and ensure culturally grounded family services across the Nation.
The Training & Development Coordinator leads the development implementation and continuous improvement of Nation-wide training and workforce development initiatives across Tsilhqotin Nidlin and the communities. This role ensures training is aligned with Tsilhqotin Law practice standards and quality priorities while strengthening consistent culturally grounded service delivery across the Nation.
The Training & Development Coordinator will Lead the delivery of training sessions workshops and learning gatherings across Tŝilhqotin communities and Nidlin teams and Collaborate with the Programs & Services teams to ensure training supports effective program implementation and community capacity-building. They will be responsible for evaluating training effectiveness and identifying emerging training needs within the Nation.
Qualifications
Post secondary education in a related field or equivalent education and experience
Minimum three (3) years experience in training workforce development or learning and development roles.
Demonstrated experience leading curriculum development and facilitating training initiatives.
Tsilhqotin language skills are a strong asset
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
Knowledge of Tsilhqotin law culture language governance and traditions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills
Working Conditions and Expectations
Must reside in or be willing to move to Tŝilhqotin Nation territory (or Williams Lake area BC)
Frequent travel within and outside Tŝilhqotin Territory including consistent visits to each of the six Tŝilhqotin communities
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
Ability to lift up to 25lbs
Valid BC Drivers License required
Clean criminal records check including vulnerable sector check
