Position Overview
Our client a global logistics provider with a strong presence in Japan is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to support strategic fashion and luxury clients within its Contract Logistics division.
The role will focus on managing and developing relationships with global luxury brands operating in Japan including major fashion houses and luxury groups. The Key Account Manager will act as the primary interface between the clients regional and global teams and the logistics operations in Japan ensuring consistent service delivery operational excellence and continued business development.
Working closely with the local operations team this role will oversee account performance drive continuous improvement initiatives manage commercial discussions including pricing and contract negotiations and support the long-term development of key client relationships.
The position requires strong stakeholder management skills an understanding of logistics operations and the ability to operate effectively within an international and matrixed organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts within the fashion and luxury sector.
Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders in Japan while coordinating closely with regional and global client teams.
Act as the voice of the customer internally ensuring alignment between client expectations and operational execution.
Develop a deep understanding of client supply chains product flows and business priorities.
Business Development and Account Growth
Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and strengthen long-term partnerships with key clients.
Support account development strategies in collaboration with regional and global account management teams.
Drive initiatives that improve service quality efficiency and overall client satisfaction.
Work closely with sales and solution design teams to support new business opportunities within existing accounts.
Operational Coordination
Collaborate closely with local warehouse and logistics operations teams to ensure smooth daily execution of services.
Ensure service level agreements and KPIs are met and proactively address operational challenges.
Support the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the account.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including transport warehousing customer service and IT to ensure service excellence.
Financial and Commercial Management
Manage the commercial performance of assigned accounts including responsibility for account profitability and P&L oversight.
Participate in pricing discussions and rate negotiations with clients in collaboration with commercial and finance teams.
Monitor cost structures and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Support contract reviews and renewal negotiations.
Performance Management and Reporting
Lead regular client meetings and operational reviews.
Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key stakeholders.
Track performance metrics service levels and improvement initiatives.
Provide clear reporting and analysis of account performance to internal leadership teams.
Global Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the local representative for global account teams and ensure alignment between global account strategy and local execution.
Facilitate communication between the clients global logistics teams and the local operations teams in Japan.
Support regional initiatives and best practice sharing across international logistics networks.

Experience and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Several years of experience in key account management customer solutions or supply chain roles within logistics freight forwarding or contract logistics environments.
Experience managing complex international clients is highly desirable.
Experience working with fashion retail or luxury sector clients is strongly preferred.
Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders including operations commercial teams and international account teams.
Language Requirements
Japanese: Business level preferred
English: Business level required
French: Highly desirable due to the client portfolio and coordination with European headquarters.
