Litigation Paralegal

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Note: This is a full-time position and requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our clients Overland Park KS office.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have 2 years of civil litigation defense experience (medical malpractice personal injury product liability or wrongful death preferred).

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys handling litigation defense matters
• Manage case files from start to finish including organization deadlines and billing
• Review and analyze medical records and other evidence
• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of regulations case law and depositions
• Draft edit and proofread legal documents pleadings and correspondence
• Assist with trial preparation including preparing exhibits and witness coordination
• Maintain direct communication with clients witnesses and opposing counsel
• Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as calendaring and document filing

Qualifications

• 2 years of civil litigation defense experience required (medical malpractice personal injury product liability wrongful death)
• Bachelors degree required; paralegal certificate a plus
• Strong knowledge of court rules filing procedures and case management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
• Highly organized detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
