This position is an ideal fit for a candidate who is passionate about providing community-based mental health/wellness services to historicallyunderresourcedcommunities. The individual has experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with mental health professionals in service of their coaching addition a successful candidate is passionate about providing services to populations that are primarily bilingual and bicultural.
TheParent Wellness Coachplays a critical role insupportingthe connection betweenfamiliesschoolsandthe community. This positionis responsible forcommunicationthat empowers caregivers improves family engagement and supports positive student outcomes.
The Parent Wellness Coach partners closely with parents school staff and community providers to ensure families feel supported informed and connected. Throughcoachingprogramdeliveryand relationshipbuilding the coach helps parents navigate challenges related to their childs education health and overall family wellbeing.
This role requires a self-starter who isself-motivatedand thrivesworkingin evolvingenvironments andserving as a trusted bridge between school systems and families.
This is a Fixed Term 4-year contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Parent Coaching & Family Support
Provideindividual (1:1) and group-based wellness coachingto parents and caregivers using a strength-based culturally responsive approach.
Cocreate individualizedParent Growth Plansaligned with family goals and student learning plans inclusive of parent strategiesappropriate atdifferent stagesof child development.
Support parents in navigating challenges related to education mental health housing employment childcare healthcare and family stability.
Respond to family crises with empathy andappropriate resourceconnection helping mitigate impactyear-round.
- SchoolFamily Partnership
Serve as akey liaison betweenfamiliesschoolsand community resources fostering strong trusting relationships with parents educators and school staff.
Collaborate with teachers administrators clinicians and other stakeholders to support family engagement and student success.
Help align parent goals with student academicsocialemotional and behavioral goals.
- Outreach & Community Engagement
Recruit parents and families into programming through school partnerships community outreach presentations and relationshipbuilding.
Develop andmaintainstrong partnerships with community organizations and service providers.
Connect families toappropriate internaland external resources.
- Documentation & Collaboration
Maintain thoroughtimely and organized documentation of coaching sessions outreach efforts and participant progress.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate across departments to ensure coordinated care.
Provide regular feedback to leadershipregardingparent needs program strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma
Bilingual inEnglish and Spanish
Minimum of3years of direct service experiencesupporting parents and families who have experienced trauma and/or crisis (e.g. housing instability domestic violence financial stress)
Knowledge ofcommunity-basedresources available to families
Preferred
Bachelors degree
Certified Wellness Coach or similar coaching credential
Background in social work public health education psychology community development or related fields
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Strong relationshipbuilder whoestablishestrust with parents school staff and community partners
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating groups and presenting publicly
Ability to coach and advocate in acompassionate nonjudgmental andstrength-basedmanner
High levelof cultural humility and ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
Adaptable and collaborative team player. Flexibleadaptingto a changing program structure.
Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to balance coaching documentation and program development
Effective problemsolver whoremainscalm and resourceful in moments of tension or crisis
Self-motivated reflective and eager to learn in dynamic environments
Amenable toworkingevenings and weekends based on family andprogrammingneeds
Strong alignment with the mission and values of Childrens Health Council
Physical & Special Requirements:
Ability to travel to school and community sitesindependently
Ability to sit stand andfacilitategroups for extended periods
Ability to use standard office and virtual communication tools
Ability tolift upto 25 pounds
