Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Shift: Full-Time Days

Annual Salary: $85000 - $90000 depending on experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ADON is responsible for monitoring nursing staff nursing activities and patient care as well as ensuring nursing activities comply with federal state and local standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning developing organizing implementing evaluating and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department following current rules regulations and guidelines
• Participate in developing maintaining and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the department
• Act as a team member team leader and supervisor to ensure work is accomplished and quality care is delivered
• Support team members and leaders in a way that celebrates and encourages hard work and success
• Ensure that all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms reports evaluations studies charting etc.
• Help determine staffing needs
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of one-year experience in nursing service administration required
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required
• Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate age-specific knowledge of developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents
• Demonstrate effective communication skills problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Must be flexible punctual professional and reliable
• Strong customer service skills and compassion
