Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Housing and Advocacy Services Director the Associate Director of Residential Services position
is responsible for client assessments and advocacy services. Implements best-practice service standards and establishes and
maintains mutually beneficial relationships with community partners. Oversee operations of the North and East County domestic
violence emergency shelters Hidden Valley House and Project Safe House. Supervises and schedules staff for program while ensuring
compliance with agency and contract requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct regular shelter facility inspections coordinate needed repairs and maintenance and communicate issues tolandlords CCS leadership or other appropriate parties. Manage vendor relationships for plumbing electrical applianceand ground maintenance ensuring upkeep of major household appliances across both facilities.
- Supervise four Family Advocates and two Advocacy Support Facilitators through weekly one-hour supervision sessions andcase reviewscovering up to 14 families and 64 shelter bedsto ensure completion of job duties assess performance andidentify training and professional development needs.
- Train staff on site at Project Safe House and Hidden Valley House on how to appropriately conduct assessments set goalswith clients and provide effective trauma-informed ongoing advocacy for clients.
- Coordinate staff submission of timekeeping records and work-related reimbursements to meet agency standards anddeadlines for all direct reports.
- Manage shelter volunteers for East and North County sites ensuring volunteers are oriented to specific job duties asapplicable per site.
- Provide programming for both shelter site locations including childrens activities possible support groups and socialevents.
- Facilitate weekly case review sessions providing staff with the space to brainstorm share resources and offer support.
- Assist the Housing and Advocacy Services Director by completing regular reports to funders separately for both sites.
- Share after-hours on-call leadership duties on a rotating basis with other management staff at least 1-week rotation at a time responding to staff crisis or need for assistance.
- Manage proper use and record keeping of petty cash gift cards and in-kind donations for both residential programs.
- Coordinate in-kind donations including acceptance delivery required paperwork and collaboration with donors forboth sites.
- Maintain the highest levels of accuracy in record-keeping and reporting ensuring that all client files and documentation areaudited for completion.
- Audit staff data entry to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant reports for both sites.
- Accurately record hours in the designated electronic timekeeping system and submit timecards and required personnel anddepartmental paperwork in accordance with agency standards.
- Provide training to staff volunteers and community partners on sexual assault intimate partner violence and stalkingincluding the intersection of violence and housing for the Crisis Intervention Training.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and protocols related to the security of electronic client servicerecords.
- Attend all HVH Auxiliary Meetings and allow weekly communication with auxiliaries as needed.
- Meet monthly with Auxiliary Leadership to discuss updates needs and upcoming events.
- Assist Housing and Advocacy Services Director with creating agenda and facilitating bi-weekly team meetings.
- Respond to crisis situations in person for both sites including medical emergencies mental health crises fires flooding andother safety concerns.
- Respond to crisis situations at both sites primarily in person with remote response utilized only in limited and exceptionalcircumstances. This includes medical emergencies mental health crises fires flooding and other safety concerns.
- Review and approve monthly supply orders ensuring inventory for both east and north county sites.
- Participate in applicable community meetings for east central and north counties.
- Ensure turnover of 7 units after clients exit reviewing property and furniture for damages functioning of appliances andarranging cleaning.
- Communicate with phone and internet companies as needed for both sites ensuring proper communication tools areavailable as needed for the hotline and advocacy services.
- Ensure coverage for both sites during shelter business hours including evenings and weekends with seven sufficient staffmembers to prioritize safety and ensure regulatory compliance. This includes managing holidays and vacations.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in social work counseling criminal justice public health or equivalent combination of education andrelated experience.
- Complete California State-approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training complete a minimumof 12 hours of ongoing training per year as required (or must complete upon hiring)
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years experience overseeing direct services that include intimate partner violence sexual assaulthousing programs child abuse issues family violence intervention and/or crisis intervention.
- Two (2) or more years of program coordination or project management experience.
- Three (3) or more years of experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Two (2) or more years of crisis counseling experience.
- Proven experience overseeing housing and/or residential programs and services.
Preferred Experience:
- Bilingual/Multilingual fluency in one or more languages (oral and written)
- Experience with developing and enhancing community collaborations.

Working Environment:
This position is hybrid-work eligible contingent on the operational needs of the department. It may allow for 2 days in person and 3 days remote but may be subject to change based on training and operational needs. This job operates in-person in a communalhousing facility. Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes. Ability to work in IPV SA and stalking fields. Workingconditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in communal housing. Thisposition is classified as critical and essential under Public Health Authority.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employeeis regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; andreach with hands and arms. Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.
Travel:
Required travel between East and North County shelter sites (approximately 50% within San Diego County). Must have reliabletransportation available for work-related purposes a valid California drivers license and proof of automobile insurance required.
Work Hours:
Generally 8:30am to 5:00pm with some night and weekends hours. Schedule to be determined in coordination and approval bysupervisor. Must be available to attend required training team meetings and provide client services as needed.
