Job Summary

The Radiographer (CT & X-ray) is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in line with clinical standards radiation safety regulations and patient care protocols.

The role requires strong technical competence in CT and general X-ray imaging accurate use of imaging systems and adherence to safety and quality standards within a fast-paced diagnostic environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnostic Imaging Delivery

• Perform CT and general X-ray examinations to a high diagnostic standard
• Ensure proper patient identification consent and preparation prior to imaging
• Optimize imaging protocols in line with ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles
• Administer IV contrast for CT studies where required
• Ensure high-quality imaging output for accurate diagnosis

2. Patient Care & Communication

• Provide compassionate and professional patient care
• Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Support patients during imaging procedures ensuring safety and dignity

3. RIS/PACS Documentation & Workflow

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation on RIS/PACS
• Ensure proper tagging labeling and archiving of imaging studies
• Support efficient workflow between radiology clinicians and reporting teams

4. Radiation Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all radiation protection and safety regulations
• Participate in radiation safety audits and quality assurance checks
• Ensure safe handling and use of imaging equipment at all times

5. Equipment Quality Assurance (QA)

• Perform daily equipment QA checks
• Identify and report equipment faults promptly
• Support engineers and vendors during maintenance and troubleshooting

Essential Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
• Valid professional registration with relevant regulatory body
• Minimum 3 4 years post-qualification experience
• Proven hands-on experience in CT and General X-ray imaging
• Strong knowledge of radiation protection standards and imaging workflows
• Experience with RIS/PACS systems

Desirable Requirements

• Certification in IV cannulation
• Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS)
• Experience in cardiac CT imaging (added advantage)
