Role Overview

Golf Operations attendants are often the first associates our guests will observe making this role critical to creating the clubs first impression. Appearance posture and mannerisms must be professional at all times. There are many different roles that go into a Golf Operations Attendant including; bag drop starter player assistant stagging and driving range.

To provide the guests with the most professional service possible while making them feel at home.

Requirements

  • Displays emotional maturity and sensitivity in dealing with others
  • Maintain personal hygiene at all times. Uniforms must be worn in a presentable way at all times
  • To comply with all standards of performance behaviour and operational policies and procedures in place at the golf club at all times
  • Participates in internal and external activities that are judged as appropriate to enhance the prestige of the company or broaden the scope of the companys operations by fulfilling the public obligations of the company as a participating member of the community
  • Performs other relevant duties as directed by supervisors and the Golf Operations Manager
  • Education/Experience: Golf Course Experience is an advantage for this position.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to communicate in English and Arabic language as well would be a plus
  • Physical Demands: Physical position while working outside physically demanding job

Responsibilities


Bag Drop:

  • Receiving clubs following clubhouse spiel to enhance service and retrieve the required information. To include the tee time and guest name for accurate staging procedures.
  • Communicate with both staging and golf reception to provide the required customer service.
  • Arrange collection of guests bags by staging for required service standards.
  • Ensure the car park and bag drop areas are free from rubbish and debris regularly. A full sweep should be completed at the start and end of both shifts.
  • Ensure the bins at bag drop are clean and free of cigarette butts.
  • Ensure all car park signage is cleaned regularly.

Starter:

  • Provide a warm welcome to all guests when they approach the first tee.
  • Follow the starter spiel to provide all the information a guest will require throughout their round
  • Communicate constantly with the golf reception to check bookings.
  • Communicate with the driving range to allow guests time to reach their first tee with time for the starter spiel to be conducted.
  • Accurately complete a tee sheet with all details including any delay in tee time and cart numbers. All information should be communicated to the course Players Assistant.

Player Assistant:

Communicate and be in full radio contact at all times.

Maintain an accurate up-to-date tee sheet in order to have the required information for guests and supervisors.

Information needs to include tee times cart numbers on-course locations crossing times (between 9th & 10th or between 18th & 1st)

Maintain the pace of play of the course.

Refill divots on the course during off-peak periods.

Collect any loose impediments on the course including rubbish while on shift.

Provide accurate information to guests when required.

Assist golfers when behind on the pace of play including raking bunkers and repairing pitch marks etc. Communicate with golf reception for players bookings.

Communicate with supervisors and the Operations Manager during periods of extreme delay.

Driving Range:

Always have the current tee sheet with you at the start of your shift.

Maintaining a good supply of balls throughout the shift

Consistently clean the bay dividers bag stands and furniture to maintain presentation.

Approach all guests in a polite professional manner and enquire what their tee times are.

Maintain constant communication with the golf operations team.

Communicate with golf operations if guests need a ride back to the clubhouse from the range.

Collect balls from directly in front of hitting areas when not busy.

Rearrange guest golf carts for an easy exit.

Collect loose rubbish throughout the shift.

Empty bins at the end of each shift.

Communicate with F&B if you are running low on items for sale from the F&B side.

Staging:

  • Communicate with all areas of operation to provide quality customer service.
  • Collect and allocate tee-time golf bags to the relevant buggy.
  • Ensure set-up of buggies with tee time plates water score card and pencils.
  • Ensure buggies are clean at all times.
  • Ensure the staging area is free from rubbish and debris at all times and bins are clean.
  • Cold towel service area should be prepared daily and clean.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy cart storage.
  • Check cart chargers are in full operation
  • The washing bay should be cleaned on a regular basis making sure garbage and sand do not go down the drains.
  • Hand out GSS feedback forms to all guests to be placed on the golf operations managers desk.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Player Assistant to provide on-course service such as buggy exchange if required.
  • Maintain constant communication with Golf Reception to check on requests made by guests through the golf cart communication GPS.
  • Clean all rental clubs once they come in after play.
  • Maintain the bag storage room to ensure the rental clubs are stored correctly and checked after the round. Transport guest clubs to the clubhouse bag drop for guest collection and cleaning.
  • Provide assistance to other areas of operation when required.
  • Clean buggies after round completion in the cleaning bay of the cart storage out of guests view. This should be done thoroughly but ensuring a buildup of buggies does not occur in the staging area.
  • The bag store room should be neat and tidy at all times. Maintaining members bags in the correct position in the room is pivotal to high-class fast service.
  • Full communication must be maintained with the starter and player assistant as guests will require direction and assistance in different areas of the facility.
  • The staging area must never be left unattended.
