Location This is an on-site role based in the Chicago area offering the chance to work closely with operations field teams and leadership on active civil construction opportunities.

Note: Must have direct estimating experience in civil construction heavy civil foundations concrete earthwork or closely related work. Candidates without directly relevant estimating experience will not be considered.

Job Description

• Prepare accurate timely cost estimates for civil and foundation construction projects
• Review plans specifications bid documents and scope requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed pricing for labor materials equipment and subcontracted work
• Partner with operations and field teams to validate production assumptions constructability and execution strategy
• Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps risk items and value-engineering opportunities before submission
• Build and organize bid proposals clarifications and supporting estimate documentation
• Maintain pricing history estimate templates and bid tracking information
• Support handoff of awarded work to project management and operations teams

Qualifications

• 3 years of directly relevant civil estimating experience
• Background in foundations concrete sitework earthwork drilling or heavy civil strongly preferred
• Strong plan-reading takeoff and bid-preparation skills
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets plans and estimate backup documentation
• Organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple bids and deadlines
• Able to communicate clearly with field operations vendors and leadership
