Job Overview
We are hiring a Sales Engineer with strong experience in abrasive products and industrial machinery specializing in grinding honing lapping and polishing applications. This is a highly technical sales role focused on industrial diamond abrasives and precision equipment used in advanced manufacturing industries including semiconductor aerospace automotive medical and photonics.
IMPORTANT: Candidates must have direct experience in abrasives or industrial machining processes. Applicants without this background or with frequent job changes will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical sales of abrasive products and precision machinery
- Conduct customer needs analysis for grinding honing lapping and polishing applications
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
- Develop customized engineering solutions to improve performance and efficiency
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and account growth
- Provide post-sale technical support and troubleshooting
- Build long-term relationships with engineers plant managers and procurement teams
- Identify new business opportunities and support market expansion
- Maintain CRM records forecasts and sales reporting
- Travel 5075% to customer sites trade shows and industry events
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial or related Engineering field preferred
- 35 years of experience in the abrasives industry or industrial machinery sales
- Strong technical knowledge of grinding honing lapping and polishing processes
- Ability to explain complex technical solutions to customers
- Strong communication negotiation and presentation skills
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
