TheRadar Mechanical Design Departmentleads mechanical design development and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems electronic modules pedestals and power and cooling systems. The department comprises individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design integration and production support.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Drafter IIto support our radar development programs. You will conceptualize design integrate and document mechanical-focused hardware using computer-aided design mechanical analyses and consistent coordination and communication across teams to ensure successful hardware performance.

This position is onsite and can be either in Tewksbury MA or Marlborough MA.

What You Will Do

• Oversees plans lays-out drawings and revises detailed part(s) assembly and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts references and data.
• Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems.
• Determines scaling inserts necessary reference datums center and dimension lines hidden line interpolations and sectioning.
• Prepares complete production detail drawings.
• Develops design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• CREO with advanced modeling and drawing experience.
• Experience with any Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) tolerance analyses drawing practices and interpretation (ASME Y-14.5) for mechanical hardware.
• Experience in CREO Parametric CREO View and Model Based Definition (MBD).
• Experience in PDM/Windchill
• Experience in multiple CAD Design Tools SolidWorks/CREO/AutoCAD
• Solid understanding of configuration management practices
• Experience military or aerospace specifications and/or industry design standards
• Strong technical background with high technical aptitude and attention to detail
• Very strong communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members

The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
