Job Summary
What you will be doing:
Premier Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Operations Analyst to join the Office of Corporate Business Operations within the Fiscal Affairs pillar. This role is responsible for performing complex high-level financial and operational analysis while providing project planning and execution support across finance operations.
The position requires strong analytical expertise sound independent judgment and the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives. The Senior Finance Operations Analyst will oversee funding approvals forecasting registration invoice and payment processing project close-outs vendor communications and data validation while collaborating across multiple business lines.
A key focus of this role is strengthening and overseeing Supply Chain fiscal operations through the development and management of analytical tools templates and dashboards to evaluate procurement processes financial performance and operational effectiveness. The role also supports workflow optimization ERP system analysis and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Expense Budget Planning & Coordination: (20%)
Assist in the development and preparation of financial projections for the Expense Budget in alignment with Supply Chain priorities.
Consolidate budget submissions from various departments and work closely with the Director of Finance and Senior Management to ensure accurate and timely submission to the Corporate Budget & Fiscal Planning team.
Requisition Management& Purchase Order Tracking: (30%)
Enter and manage requisitions for authorized expense budgets for the fiscal year ensuring proper approval from cost center managers/ Deputy Executive Director.
Maintain a record of requisitions in accordance with departmental procedures.
Track and maintain Purchase Order (PO) approval records ensuring they are accurately logged and cross-referenced with internal tracking systems.
Coordinate with departments to resolve any discrepancies in PO approval processes and ensure timely documentation.
Variance Analysis & Budget Modifications: (20%)
Review monthly variance reports generated by the Corporate Budget & Fiscal Planning team to identify any discrepancies between actual and budgeted expenses.
Collaborate with department heads and finance colleagues to perform necessary budget modifications and update internal trackers accordingly.
Dashboard & Reporting Tools: (15%)
Develop and maintain interactive dashboard tools to present budget performance metrics to senior management on a quarterly basis.
Use advanced Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI Oracle Hyperion) to create visually engaging and easy-to-understand reports that help senior management track spending progress and ensure the department stays within budget.
Financial Support & Stakeholder Management (15%)
Provide ongoing financial support and consultation to departments within the Supply Chain to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for stakeholders as requested delivering clear insights and actionable recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more yearsEducation:
High School Diploma or GED (Required)Preferred Qualifications
Skills:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.) and advanced Excel skills including pivot tables VLOOKUP data analysis and complex formulas.
Hands-on experience with Peoplesoft Oracle PassPort Hyperion SQL Access and PowerBI or similar tools for financial reporting KPI tracking and dashboard creation.
Experience in NYC government finance and procurement functions is plus
Understanding of procurement processes and documentation standards
Team Player with a positive attitude and respectful manners
Open to learning adopting new systems or directives and suggesting ways to streamline processes
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in financial analysis budgeting or accounting with a proven track record in managing and analyzing budgets.
Proven ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear actionable insights for senior management.
Education:
Undergraduate degree (Bachelors) or graduate degree (Masters) in Finance Accounting or a related field
