We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Associate Design Director for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to this landmark project that is poised to deliver transformative impacts across economic transportation and environmental sustainability.

The busiest rail connection between New York New Jersey and the Northeast Corridor the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity reliability and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800000 daily passengers from Washington D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

As the Associate Design Director youll play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project. Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assist in oversight of the design team and coordinating design activities for the project in the field of Heavy Commuter Rail System & Tunnelling.
• Manage the design process including project planning concept development detailed design and design reviews.
• Ensure that design deliverables meet project requirements client expectations and relevant standards.
• Collaborate with architects engineers consultants and stakeholders to integrate design elements and address technical challenges.
• Review design drawings calculations and technical documentation for accuracy quality and compliance.
• Support value engineering efforts design optimization and innovation in design solutions.
• Coordinate with construction teams to ensure seamless transition from design to construction phase.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Extensive experience in design management preferably on large tunneling or underground construction projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Revit and Bentley software suites.
• Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and manage resources effectively.
• Excellent communication collaboration and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in Federal Transit Agency projects
• Familiarity with transit agencies (Such as PANYNJ NJT MTA LIRR Amtrak)
• Experience in delivery in programs or portfolios of significant value >$1bn is a significant advantage.

The estimated starting salary for this position is $180000 - $220000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible non-discriminatory factors such as experience skills and qualifications.
