Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Welding Engineer / Welding Process Engineer to develop improve and optimize welding procedures and metal fabrication processes. This role focuses on welding process development stainless steel fabrication quality control and manufacturing engineering in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding procedures for fabrication and production
- Define welding parameters (materials alloys pre/post-heat joint design)
- Design welding fixtures and improve production tooling
- Research and develop new welding methods equipment and processes
- Improve existing fabrication and welding techniques for efficiency and quality
- Ensure compliance with welding codes specifications and ISO 9000 standards
- Perform weld inspections and support certification/testing programs
- Support training and compliance of welding and production teams
- Collaborate with purchasing to source welding consumables and outsourced parts
- Support hands-on welding and assembly as needed
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Materials Engineering or Welding Engineering OR 10 years of welding experience
- 24 years of hands-on welding experience including stainless steel
- Level II Visual Weld Inspector certification required
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 or similar quality systems
- Experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D (3D modeling required)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook)
Physical Requirements:
- Standing walking and hands-on fabrication work
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of tools machinery and computers
- Repetitive hand/wrist motion required
Additional Information:
- Startup environment requiring independence and ownership
- Minimal travel
- Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Salary: $80000 $130000 (DOE)
