Production Technician-Summer

Our salary range for this role is $19 - $20/hr reflecting the anticipated base salary for a fully qualified candidate at the time of posting.

General Accountability

Working as a member of the team the Summer Production Technician is responsible for the safe and efficientoperation of various manufacturing and
distribution processes to meet the company and customers
expectations for quality and delivery of products. Including Material preparation processes Rubber Handrail production
assembly; press operation; preparing splice kitsNT production cleaning tooling; building NTP reelsDeFlector brushes preparing kits

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Realization
a) Operates very complex machinery in the manufacturing and joining of plastic handrails andother parts. Maintains equipment as per the preventive
maintenance program.
Disassembles and reassembles dies and extruders for style changes. Splices handrails totolerances using hand tools.
b) Operates moderately complex machinery in the manufacturing of rubber handrails and otherparts. Hand assembles handrails and splices. Reworks any deficiencies through skilled useof knives and other hand tools. Disassembles and reassembles moulding equipment for stylechanges.
c) Sets up and operates various material preparation machines to slit cut extrude join or pre-assemble rubber or rubberized materials. Disassembles and reassembles dies and otherequipment for style and size changes.
d) Sets up and operates bending Machine and router to prepare brush holders and other parts.

e) Maintains inventory accuracy by labelling and accounting for material discrepancies.
f) Maintains a clean and organized workplace to ensure processes run efficiently and product is
defect free.
g) Works on special projects in the manufacturing areas as required.
h) Packages all finished parts to approved packaging methods and standards.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

• Completion of high school education
• Has 3 years experience in production processes using complicated machinery would be considered an asset.
• A high degree of hand eye coordination is required. Ability to consistently work with in excess of 35 kg and the ability to stand for longer periods of time.
