Customer Shared ServicesThe Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting any one of 3 closely related focuses: 1) Clearing fixed income trades executed by traders for BMO Bank BMO Harris Investment Corp. or BMO Bank safekeeping customers; 2) Processing P&I payments and reconciling differences between various custodians and internal system of record; 3) Settlement and monitoring of both internal and correspondent bank funding activity. This role will also work closely with the Investment Portfolio Accounting team. The main focuses of this team include but are not limited to: 1) Working with internal and external partners to provide timely and accurate bond accounting reporting; 2) Servicing as operations liaison for securities and cash collateral management and pledged securities monitoring for internal and external partners; and 3) Provide operational support for Federal Funds transactions. Employee will be required to learn each of the above roles in order to be able to complete routine and non-routine transactions address internal business partner and/or external customer inquiries/requests respond to audit requests and solve more complex issues efficiently and effectively in accordance with Bank and industry standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Follow department SOX controls when processing daily work.
Review client inquires scheduled or on-demand troubleshoot/resolve problems independently escalate all unresolved processing problems to the appropriate level as per guidelines.
Investigate accounting and P&I breaks related to various reconciliations and system entries.
Create update and document procedures for applications developed (BMAs) identify new opportunities for improving processes for efficiency.
Act as SME to translate business objectives into plans that can be implemented for small- to midsized initiatives including process redesign to compliment the change management/ product support strategy for the commodity business unit adhering to and maintaining established standards and practices; represent technical business needs and requirements in the introduction of new/ revised processes and systems.
Prepare daily and monthly reconciliation activities & reports provide commentary on discrepancies and outliers.
Provide complete coverage of multiple desks during staffing shortages.
Maintain appropriate audit trails for all tasks.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
1 to 2 years of Securities or Finance Industry experience recommended
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Excel etc..)
Knowledge of the different types of fixed income securities Good understanding of the business units risk and regulatory requirements

Salary:
$41714.00 - $77500.00Pay Type:
SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
