Urgent care sometimes known as walk-in care fast care or express care is a convenient option for patients who require timely medical care but the situation is not an emergency. We treat adults and children ages 3 and older and provide care for a wide range of illnesses and injuries including allergies asthma coughs bronchitis colds flu COVID-19 fever headache broken bones sprains and strains eye and ear infections rashes cuts sexually transmitted infections stomach pain diarrhea and vomiting. Because patients typically come to us when they arent feeling their best it is incredibly important to us that our staff members strive to provide the compassion and emotional support our patients need.
We are seeking a Full-time 37.5-hour-per-week clinic/Practice Assistant to support our Urgent Care Resource Call Center. This role consists of three 12.5 shifts per week working 23 weekdays and every third weekend (both Saturday and Sunday). Additionally the Clinic/Practice Assistant will be scheduled for on-call coverage every ninth weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
This is a primarily remote position; however staff are expected to report onsite if unable to work remotely due to unexpected circumstances (e.g. internet outage). The Urgent Care Resource Call Center supports a high-volume environment managing approximately 200400 calls daily across 24 agents depending on seasonal demand.
Since Urgent Care is a 7-day-per-week operation that delivers care during the day evening weekends and holidays the schedule for this role will also require holiday coverage and the flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Please note: Employees may be expected to be on-site for all hours worked during the first week of employment for onboarding/training. This role will be fully remote after the successful completion of the training program with occasional in-person training as needed.

Job Summary
Job Description SummaryPerforms both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under general supervision. Performs basic clerical work and tasks that are repetitive and routine. Administrative duties related to patient visits including scheduling check-in check-out duties. Actual job duties may vary by Department.
Essential Functions
-Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
-Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
-Greet and assist patients.
-Answer telephones assist callers with routine inquiries and schedule appointments.
-File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
-Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical record/LMR.
-Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
-Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
-Type forms records schedules memos etc. as directed.
-May be required to accept co-payments.
-Handles screens and/or takes messages related to prior authorizations
-provider questions prescription refills and test results.
-Acts as Super User for scheduling registration and billing systems.
-Provides assistance and training to others in these areas.
-May perform more complex or specialized functions (i.e. surgical scheduling schedule changes/blocking) at more advanced competency level.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study preferred
Experience
2-3 years Administrative Assistant or Secretarial Experience required
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Proficiency with office procedures and equipment i.e. filing copying scanning printing and faxing.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
Ability to use phone system.
Managing ones own time and the time of others.
Strong verbal & written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal written and oral skills.
Ability to use standard office equipment.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
