About the role:

You will lead the development and implementation of the Councils Community Safety Strategy ensuring full alignment with the statutory duties set out in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the priorities of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP). A core part of the role is ensuring that the CSP and all of its subgroups operate effectively are strategically aligned and deliver on the boroughs shared priorities. This includes providing leadership coordination and oversight for Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) and domesticabuserelated death reviews ensuring that learning is captured shared and embedded across the partnership.

You will lead and support the development of key strategies and plans required to meet the needs of the community safety service including the Community Safety Partnership Plan and Strategy working closely with Assistant Directors and heads of service to shape key initiatives and ensure that problemsolving methodology is integral to our approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan coordinate and deliver a robust series of strategies using a range of complex partnership data analysis and resident views to improve Community Safety in the Borough.

Support the Community Safety Team to respond to complex professional or politically sensitive issues within the area of responsibility.

Manage key relationships with delivery partners within area of responsibility.

Link with Analysts and other resources necessary for the professional service area to meet/exceed its objectives identify gaps in provision.

Lead on the development of the Councils Community Safety Strategy ensuring that all action plans under the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) are fully aligned and deliver against our statutory duties.

Support and co-ordinate the work of CSP

Implement a risk management programme and advise on issues affecting Council service areas

Support the effective oversight and delivery of commissioned services that contribute to the discharge of the Councils statutory community safety duties.

Provide supervisory responsibility for one member of staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educated to degree standard or equivalent relevant professional qualification
