We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Woodlands Primary Healthcare. This role combines administrative and clinical responsibilities to ensure efficient patient care in a supportive patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Obtain and record patient medical histories vital signs and chief complaints.
- Prepare examination rooms sterilize instruments and assist physicians during procedures.
- Administer medications/vaccinations as directed and perform basic lab tests (e.g. blood draws EKGs).
- Provide patient education on medications treatments and post-visit care.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments manage patient check-in/out and verify insurance coverage.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Answer patient inquiries via phone/email and coordinate referrals.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
Requirements
- 1 years of experience in a clinical setting (primary care preferred).
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and compassion for diverse patient populations.
- Bilingual Spanish is a must
