Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate skilled massage therapist to join our wellness team. This position is ideal for someone at the entry or intermediate level who is eager to grow and make a positive impact. One opening is available at 30 hours per week The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality massage services tailored to each clients needs. Responsibilities include assessing client conditions creating personalized treatment plans and delivering various massage techniques to relieve pain reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Strong communication skills professionalism and commitment to client care are essential. The Massage Therapist will work closely with other health and wellness professionals in a supportive environment focused on holistic healing and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of massage techniques based on client needs and preferences.

  • Assess clients physical conditions and medical histories to develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Maintain accurate client records including session notes and treatment progress.

  • Ensure a clean safe and welcoming treatment environment adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards.

  • Collaborate with other wellness professionals to support integrated care plans.

  • Stay current with industry trends techniques and continuing education requirements.

Schedule & FTE

One part-time opening is available at 30 hours per week (0.75 FTE)

Early mornings evenings and weekends are required.

Current operational hours:

  • MonThu: 5:00 a.m.10:00 p.m.

  • Fri: 5:00 a.m.9:00 p.m.

  • SatSun: 7:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.

The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) established within the CU School of Medicine opened in April 2012. Our vision is a campus where wellness is the foundation of everything we do. About the Fitness Center:

The 30000 ft2 three-story Fitness Center at AHWC features state-of-the-art Technogym cardiovascular and Matrix resistance exercise equipment along with three dedicated studios for group exercise classes a functional training space (FIT Lab) indoor track pool hot tub locker rooms with dedicated steam rooms and saunas and fitness assessment technology. The Fitness Center offers complimentary fitness consultation sessions group exercise personal training services and massage. The Fitness Center supports over 3100 members from the campus and community. The Fitness Center business operations are overseen by the Fitness Center General Manager and the Assistant General Manager. The Fitness Center has more than 50 employees.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Technician I

  • Licensed Massage Therapist in Colorado and one (1) year experience delivering massage therapy services.

  • Active Massage Therapy license through DORA.

Technician II

  • License Massage Therapist in Colorado and two (2) years experience delivering massage therapy services.

  • Active Massage Therapy license through DORA.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification

  • Previous experience with Club Automation software

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of human anatomy physiology and kinesiology.

  • Proficient with a variety of massage techniques and modalities.

  • Knowledge of contraindications and safety precautions related to massage therapy.

  • Understanding of client confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

  • Strong client communication and active listening skills.

  • Ability to adjust pressure based on client needs.

  • Time management.

  • Documentation and record-keep accuracy.

  • Basic computer or software skills for scheduling and charting.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Capacity to maintain physical stamina and perform multiple sessions per day.

  • Flexibility to adapt techniques based on individual client preferences or health conditions.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess a current CPR/AED/First Aid certification at time of hire

  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be willing and able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be willing and able to kneel/crouch on a consistent basis

  • Occasional travel required to provide massages within a 10-mile radius of the Anschutz Medical Campus

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

  • Technician I: $20.11 - $24.93/hour and eligible for commission/tips for massage sessions provided

  • Technician II: $21.11 - $26.18/hour and eligible for commission/tips for massage sessions provided

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
