Lake Technicial College Institute of Public Safety
Lake Technical College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Adult Education Instructor to provide instruction for Criminal Justice programs at the Institute of Public Safety. Instructional assignments may include Florida Law Enforcement Academy Corrections Crossover from Corrections to Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Criminal Justice Trust Fund courses and approved advanced criminal justice classes. Instruction must comply with all Lake Technical College policies and applicable Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) requirements.
Essential Duties
- Provide classroom and/or practical instruction in assigned criminal justice courses and programs.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with FDLE/CJSTC-approved curricula lesson plans and training standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance evaluations grades and required instructional documentation.
- Evaluate student performance and ensure instructional and certification standards are met.
- Comply with Lake Technical College policies procedures and professional standards of conduct.
- Work cooperatively with administration and staff to support program goals and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- FDLE/CJSTC-certified instructor or eligible for certification per CJSTC requirements.
- Active or prior certification and professional experience in Law Enforcement and/or Corrections.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes CJSTC rules and criminal justice training standards.
- Ability to effectively instruct adult learners in a structured instructional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in a Florida Law Enforcement Academy or Corrections training program.
- Experience teaching Crossover (Corrections to Law Enforcement Officer) Trust Fund or advanced criminal justice courses.

- Employment is part-time and hours are based on program needs and enrollment.
- All instructional services must meet FDLE CJSTC and Lake Technical College requirements.
