The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Metadata Coordinator to lead a specialist metadata team and support the continued delivery and development of Monash University Librarys metadata services.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager - Collection Management the position contributes to the implementation and ongoing development of the Librarys Metadata strategy ensuring continuity of established priorities while progressing improvement initiatives and inclusive metadata practices.
As a Metadata Coordinator you will:
- Lead and support a specialist team delivering core metadata services
- Sustain and progress initiatives that support the creation reuse sharing and management of metadata
- Maintain and enhance workflows that support access to all Library collections physical and electronic
- Collaborate across teams to review and improve processes for efficiency sustainability and ease of user access
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
You will have demonstrated experience in library metadata services along with strong knowledge of library systems and technologies.
You will have current knowledge of resource description standards tools and inclusive and reparative metadata practices and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and collaborative environment.
Your ability to build relationships maintain effective workflows apply technical knowledge in the support of team and library outcomes will be complemented by your leadership and engagement capabilities. You will be confident in contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting consistent sustainable metadata practices to ensure Library collections are well-managed accessible and aligned to the Universitys teaching learning and research priorities.
