Job Summary
No pediatrics experience No problem! If you have experience working with adult populations we will provide training on working with pediatric patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty you are hired for.
River 6 Surgical Unit is a dynamic 43 bed acute care floor that cares for pediatric patients across the age continuum. We work with many services including Cardiology Cardiac Surgery Organ Failure and Transplant Dialysis and Neonatology. Our unit receives transfers from NICU PICU and CVICU; offering a wide variety high-acuity assignments to keep nurses challenged and engaged.
On River 6 Surgical new hires will join a passionate team that fosters growth and development from RN-led committees to pediatric certification mentoring precepting and so much more. Nurses have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients who undergo multiple surgeries through their childhood.
Nurses are supported by preceptors charge nurses unit-based educators clinical specialists through an orientation tailored to their experience and needs.
Graduate of an accredited school of experience in a pediatric related health care setting or a specific area of nursing may be required for specific departments.
Required Credentials
Current Washington State RN License or other current state license that the RN is required to work Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below.) BLS must be maintained in current status until the incumbent obtains the appropriate Life Support Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below) NOTE: Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above. Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PEARS within 6 months of employment and subsequently maintain at all times: Acute Care Float Apheresis Services Bellevue Cancer Care Unit Dialysis Hematology & Oncology Clinic Home Care Infusion Therapy Immunology Immunotherapy Infusion Medical Unit Psychiatric Unit Rehabilitation Unit Research nurses working in Cancer Care and CCTR Surgical Unit Urgent Care (all locations) Vascular Access Services
Preferred
Bachelors degree in health care nursing experience.
Compensation Range
$51.60 - $91.30 per hourSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
