JOB SUMMARY

Cresco Labs is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our corporate finance team in Chicago IL. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in reporting and reconciliation of accounting functions. This individual will analyze financial statements to find and resolve any discrepancies. Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail.

CORE JOB DUTIES

• Assist with month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Support audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to internal and external auditor inquiries.
• Assist with the continuous improvement of processes and procedures as company expands into new and established markets.
• Prepare and maintain prepaid asset accounting records including prepaid capitalization amortization monthly journal entries schedules and roll forwards.
• Prepare and maintain capital lease accounting records including amortization schedules reassessments/adjustments new/terminated lease analysis tenant improvement allowance (TIA) activity monthly journal entries and various other lease deliverables.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (including cash accounts) and investigate reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct fluctuation and variance analysis across balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify trends and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure accuracy completeness and strong attention to detail across accounting records and supporting schedules.
• Complete ad-hoc analyses and special projects as assigned to support corporate accounting and leadership reporting needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND SKILLS

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 years accounting experience (public accounting or relevant corporate accounting experience preferred)
• CPA desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks
• Experience with financial accounting systems (Intacct helpful)
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
• Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment manage multiple priorities and respond to ad-hoc requests.
