The role

Are you someone who thrives on bringing events to lifefrom the first idea through to the final pack down Join a small high-performing team where youll play a hands-on role delivering a diverse portfolio of engaging events across the University.

As an Events and Engagement Coordinator youll coordinate and deliver events end-to-end working closely with internal and external stakeholders to create memorable experiences for staff students and the wider community. From corporate functions and public lectures to large-scale recruitment events like Open Day no two days will look the same.

Working alongside the Events and Engagement Specialist youll take ownership of your own events while also collaborating on major high-profile activities. This role is key to supporting the teams delivery and ensuring events run smoothly across both the Newcastle and Central Coast campuses.

What youll do:

  • Coordinate and deliver a range of University events from concept to completion
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics including planning documentation risk assessments and on-the-day delivery
  • Work closely with internal teams suppliers and external stakeholders to bring events together
  • Support the delivery of major University events as part of a small collaborative team
  • Oversee casual event staff and ensure all stakeholders are well briefed
  • Monitor budgets and contribute to post-event evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Contribute ideas and creative input to enhance event experiences and engagement outcomes

This continuing position is full time at a HEW6 Higher Education Worker leveland is based at Callaghan

About you

Youre organised proactive and enjoy working in a fast-paced hands-on environment. Youre equally comfortable behind the scenes planning logistics as you are on the ground making things happen.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating events from start to finish
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative approachable style and ability to work effectively in a small team
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • A current drivers licence and willingness to travel between campuses

Things to consider

This is a hands-on role that involves physical event setup and pack down as well as occasional out-of-hours work aligned to event delivery.
