Canada Summer Jobs Position: Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (Assistant)

Full-time Contract Onsite

$18.60 per hour 35 hrs/week
Start date: May 4 2026 for eight weeks

This position is thanks to support from Employment and Social Development Canada - Canada Summer Jobs program. Participants will also be encouraged to complete a questionnaire to report on their experience with the Canada Summer Jobs program. As per requirements of this grant the successful candidate must:


  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
  • Be either Canadian Permanent Resident or Refugee. International students and those who are here in Canada on a work youth or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.
  • Have a valid SIN.
  • Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

What will you be doing as the Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (Assistant)
The Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (Assistant) will support Pride Torontos marketing campaigns for Pride Month. Responsibilities include coordinating promotional activities developing marketing materials supporting digital content planning assisting with outreach to partners tracking deliverables and supporting onsite marketing activations during festival weekend.

Based on the nature of this role the successful candidatemay need to work weekends and evenings outside of regular work hours to support events planned throughout May and June.

All Pride Toronto Summer Students must be available to work Pride Festival Weekend (June 25-28). Pride Festival Weekend is full of performances art and parades celebrating the 2SLGBTQI communities. No matter their role all members of the Pride Toronto team support the Pride Festival through various operational and programming tasks that ensure the events are safe fun and memorable.

Other responsibilities include:
Marketing Campaign & Promotions Support

  • Assist in planning and coordinating marketing campaigns for Pride Month and Pride 365 initiatives.
  • Support the execution of advertising and promotional strategies across digital print and outdoor media.
  • Help track campaign timelines deliverables and production schedules to ensure all materials are completed on time.
  • Coordinate the distribution and placement of posters flyers banners and promotional assets in community spaces.
Digital Content & Social Media Support

  • Assist with content planning for social media newsletters and website updates.
  • Help draft content such as captions event highlights promotional messaging and community features.
  • Prepare digital assets for internal use ensuring they follow brand guidelines and are formatted correctly.
  • Support the collection of photos videos testimonials and content assets for use in promotional campaigns.
Branding & Creative Materials Support

  • Assist with the creation organization and distribution of marketing materialsincluding graphics slides social tiles and outreach packages.
  • Help maintain internal brand consistency by ensuring all assets meet Pride Torontos style guide and accessibility requirements.
  • Track inventory of physical promotional materials such as brochures posters and branded collateral.
Outreach to Partners & Stakeholders

  • Support outreach to sponsors community partners and organizations participating in Pride Month to coordinate co-branded marketing initiatives.
  • Gather logos promotional materials and marketing assets from partners and ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Assist with communication related to deliverables deadlines approvals and promotional opportunities.
Event-Based Marketing & Onsite Activations

  • Support onsite marketing activations during Festival Weekend including signage placement brand activation support and capturing live content.
  • Assist with the setup of promotional booths photo areas media backdrops and partner activations.
  • Provide onsite coordination for photographers videographers and media teams.
  • Help distribute promotional materials to festival zones and manage marketing supplies during events.
Data Tracking & Evaluation

  • Help track marketing analytics social engagement outreach results and campaign performance.
  • Monitor the progress of deliverables and update internal tracking sheets.
  • Assist in collecting feedback from community partners sponsors and attendees to support post-event reporting.
Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Maintain organized digital folders for marketing campaigns and creative files.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings preparing agendas and documenting notes for marketing-related discussions.
  • Update spreadsheets and project timelines to support the Marketing & Communications Team.
Public Relations Coordination

  • Help prepare media lists press summaries and promotional briefs.
  • Support PR and communications activities by compiling content assisting with press coordination and preparing materials for media kits.
  • Monitor public-facing communications for accuracy tone and alignment with Pride Torontos mission.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Provide respectful and enthusiastic support to diverse 2SLGBTQ communities ensuring promotional efforts reflect community values.
  • Assist with creating accessible inclusive marketing materials that represent the diversity of Pride Toronto.

What are we looking for
Qualifications and skills required of the role.

  • Youth between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience
  • Highly organized and experienced with MS Office G-Suite platform and other online tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability
  • Knowledge and understanding of the 2SLGBTQI community
  • Demonstrated administrative background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • This position requires you to work from our office Mondays to Fridays between 9:00am-5:00pm.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for meetings and events (lieu time provided to be provided for hours worked)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including occasional heavy lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required to support on-site event production needs. The ideal candidate is hands-on and adaptable willing to assist with logistical tasks to ensure seamless event execution
