Position Summary:

NYBG is seeking a strategic analytically driven leader to serve as Senior Director of Revenue Strategy & Audience Insights. The Senior Director will lead visitation research and forecasting efforts translating data into actionable recommendations that shape programming marketing ticketing and long-term revenue planning. The role has high visibility across departments and regularly informs executive decision making.

This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in analytics consumer insights or ticket and package pricing strategy who is motivated by the prospect of applying this experience to a mission-driven organization. Candidates should have demonstrated experience creating narratives from data and using those to drive recommendations to executive-level audiences.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex analyses into clear actionable insights for leadership and cross-functional teams through dashboards reports presentations and visualizations tailored to diverse stakeholders enabling leadership and teams to adjust forecasts strategies and operations dynamically.
  • Link audience insights to financial outcomes including ticket revenue membership transactions retail and ancillary income.
  • Analyze historical and real-time visitation sales and audience data to develop predictive attendance and behavior models leveraging Excel and AI-assisted tools where appropriate and translate those forecasts into financial scenarios that inform ticket pricing packages programming and capacity planning.
  • Partner closely with Marketing Visitor Experience Exhibitions and Programming Education Finance and senior leadership to integrate sales insights into planning and operations.
  • Own ticketing & visitation data integrity and governance establishing standards safeguards and quality assurance practices that ensure accuracy consistency and reliability.
  • Manage relationships with ticketing system vendors and external system providers. Track relevant expense budgets deliverables data security and performance against institutional needs.
  • Influence institutional strategy by presenting insights persuasively and building consensus at the executive level.
  • Champion a data-driven culture by establishing best practices mentoring teams and setting a clear vision for analytics and forecasting.
  • Serve as an institutional thought leader staying current on trends and best practices in audience research innovative pricing and ticketing strategies industry benchmarking and the responsible application of AI and emerging analytics technologies in cultural institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required in quantitative-based field.
  • Masters degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Curiosity to study and apply relevant software and product innovations from both the nonprofit sector and the wider technology industry.
  • Significant experience in audience research consumer insights analytics or strategy preferably in a complex cross-functional organization.
  • Expertise in data visualization using Excel PowerBi or other tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect data to outcomes and strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to non-technical audiences and senior leaders.
  • Collaborative solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity manage differing perspectives and build consensus.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive data.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position the employee is required to at minimum sit at a desk lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions and occasionally work under moderate or loud work conditions.

Baseline Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hybrid work schedule with up to 2 days per week remote work (all staff required to be on-site on Wednesdays).

Salary: Commensurate with experience within the range of $115000-$125000.
