Role Summary
As an Operator 1 for the Sorting Machine is responsible for operating monitoring and maintaining the sorting machinery to ensure efficient and accurate sorting of products. This role requires a strong attention to detail adherence to safety standards and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Details
Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Pay: $19.50 $2.50 Shift Differential.
Location: Onsite Mundelein IL 60060
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Key Responsibilities
Start up operate and shut down sorting machines in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
Observe machine operations to ensure the quality and efficiency of product sorting.
Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions to maintain optimal performance.
Inspect sorted products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Remove defective items and maintain consistent quality in sorted products.
After sorting process is complete package product into packaging cartons.
Accurately record production data including the quantity of sorted products machine malfunctions and downtime.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g. maintain cleanliness of work area etc.)
Follow all Safety Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
Education: None Experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role is preferred
Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with industrial sorting machinery.
Competencies/Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints work instructions and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on product quality.
Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Prolonged standing bending and walking for extended periods
