On July 1 2025 IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the company). The Companys operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants).
The company is headquartered in Dublin Ireland. IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions across a range of end market segments including returnable transit packaging consumer and industrial packaging environmental containers and agricultural packaging. The company employs c.4100 employees across North America (1600 employees) and Europe (2500 employees.)
The role
As Operations Manager you will lead and optimize production and equipment maintenance to ensure safe efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations. You will manage multi-functional teams drive continuous improvement and play a key role in delivering site performance targets. Strong leadership operational expertise and data-driven decision-making are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Champion safety across the plant exceeding company policies and legal requirements
Lead daily production and maintenance operations in line with business objectives
Monitor analyze and communicate production metrics and KPIs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and preventive maintenance programs
Ensure accurate timely production reporting within the ERP system (IFS)
Identify and execute corrective actions to reduce downtime costs and schedule deviations
Oversee equipment and tooling maintenance to maximize productivity and efficiency
Implement the company Quality Policy with a focus on customer satisfaction and problem prevention
Develop train and motivate teams; ensure completion of all required training
Support budgeting and forecasting activities with a focus on labor and direct costs
Act as a visible champion of company values and a proactive member of the site leadership team
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing or operations management
Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Proven experience across production maintenance quality and technical processes
Technically capable of troubleshooting mechanical issues with molds and machinery
Knowledge of production scheduling facility operations and automated equipment (machines conveyors robotics)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience preferred
PMP or Project Management certification is an advantage
