Underwriting Team Lead
Job Summary
The Underwriting Team Lead is responsible for leading and supervising the underwriting team ensuring highquality credit decisionmaking compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements and efficient loan processing.
This role plays a key part in maintaining underwriting quality optimizing processes supporting collaboration across departments and contributing to the overall portfolio performance of TF Bank Lithuania.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
Lead coach and support the underwriting team to ensure consistent highquality loan decisions.
Monitor team performance workload distribution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Ensure professionalism accuracy and consistency in underwriting activities.
Act as escalation point for complex or exceptional underwriting cases.
Underwriting & Credit Decisions
Oversee review and processing of loan applications in accordance with internal credit policies.
Verify completeness and correctness of documents submitted for credit assessment.
Address deficiencies in incomplete or incorrect applications.
Approve loan applications within assigned authorization limits.
Collaborate with the Senior Underwriter on complex or strategic credit decisions.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Actively participate in developing reviewing and implementing underwriting procedures and workflow improvements.
Work closely with Sales Customer Service Precollection and other departments to optimize the loan approval process.
Ensure smooth handover of cases to debt collection where applicable including documentation and explanations related to credit assessments.
Compliance & Risk
Ensure compliance with internal rules regulatory requirements AML procedures and document retention standards.
Identify and report suspicious or unusual transactions to the AML contact person.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client and bank information.
Additional Responsibilities
Communicate with clients within the scope of underwriting responsibilities when required.
Perform additional tasks assigned by the Head of Operations Lithuania aligned with the roles objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Experience
Experience in underwriting credit risk assessment or other operational team leadership roles (e.g. Customer Service Collections Operations).
Solid people management experience including:
leading teams
setting tracking and improving KPIs
ensuring performance against agreed service levels.
Strong understanding of operational processes quality control and workflow optimization.
Ability to quickly learn underwriting principles credit policies and riskbased decisionmaking processes.
Experience in developing documenting and implementing processes procedures and internal guidelines.
Prior experience mentoring or supporting team members is considered a strong advantage.
Education & Language
Higher education degree (Finance Banking Business Administration or similar preferred).
Proficiency in the local language (spoken and written).
Intermediate proficiency in English.

Ability to ensure high quality consistency and accuracy of underwriting decisions.
