What You Will Do
The Accounting Assistant plays an integral role within the WIN House team and contributes to the success of the organization by ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting regulatory compliance and ensuring spending is in alignment with our mission and objectives.
The Accounting Student regularly demonstrates initiative and proactively undertakes the following key responsibilities:
Process accounts payable invoices verifying expenses and preparing payments to vendors
Enter and reconcile employee credit card purchases
Reconcile bank transactions and other general ledger accounts for accuracy
Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial package
Other accounting or WIN House related projects
Who You Are
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program with a major in accounting.
Expertise in Microsoft Excel with proficiency in other Microsoft products including Word Outlook Teams
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
The Details
Standard hours of work are 8:30 A.M to 3:45 P.M. from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Fridays. Win House offers a pet-friendly team-oriented working environment. As a Living Wage Employer we are committed to fair pay practices that reflect the value of our employees work. The rate of pay for this term position is $20/hour.
Prerequisites
The successful candidate will be required to submit a Criminal Record Check and must be willing to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
As per the Canada Summer Job Grant Program to be eligible youth must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
Be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
