SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time (may require work outside normal work hours)/12 month position/PSRS
Position Summary
The College Director of Access and Accommodations Resources (AAR) provides strategic college-wide leadership to ensure equitable access to programs services and learning environments for all students. This position is responsible for advancing a comprehensive and integrated approach to accessibility that aligns with institutional priorities related to student academic success retention and completion.
The College Director leads the development implementation and continuous improvement of policies processes and services that support students with disabilities across all campuses and centers. This role works collaboratively with academic affairs student affairs faculty and college leadership to embed accessibility into the student experience while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide strategic college-wide leadership for Access and Accommodations Resources (AAR) ensuring alignment with institutional priorities related to student academic success retention and completion.
- Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of a comprehensive accessibility strategy that ensures equitable access to programs services and learning environments across all campuses and centers.
- Directly supervise and develop AAR staff including hiring training performance management and ongoing professional development while fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and student-centered service.
- Establish and maintain consistent policies procedures and service delivery models to ensure a high-quality and equitable student experience across the institution.
- Provide institutional leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local regulations including ADA and Section 504 while proactively identifying and addressing potential areas of risk.
- Collaborate closely with faculty to support the implementation of academic accommodations.
- Partner with all areas of the college to align services remove barriers and support holistic student outcomes.
- Serve as a key advisor to college leadership on issues related to accessibility compliance and equitable student support contributing to institutional planning and decision-making.
- Oversee the determination and implementation of appropriate academic accommodations ensuring consistency timeliness and alignment with best practices.
- Develop and deliver college-wide training and professional development to faculty and staff on accessibility accommodations and inclusive practices.
- Utilize data and assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of AAR services monitor student outcomes and inform continuous improvement and innovation.
- Oversee the AAR budget and ensure effective stewardship of resources in alignment with institutional priorities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations community agencies and stakeholders to support students and enhance services.
- Represent AAR on college committees councils and task forces and serve as an advocate for accessibility and student equity across the institution.
- Prepare reports including annual planning documents program assessments and compliance documentation as required.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned including attending college functions serving on committees and attending community events.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Bachelors degree in counseling rehabilitation special education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- Three years of experience in the field of disability services including the following areas: academic accommodation provision documentation review assistive technology and training.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse university community.
- One year of leadership/management experience.
- Sound working knowledge of relevant federal state and local government regulations and equal opportunity policies.
- Valid Missouri Drivers License and reliable vehicle (for travel to all OTC campuses and locations).
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- A nationally-recognized certification in the field of rehabilitation counseling.
- Five years of experience in the field of disability services including the following areas: academic accommodation provision documentation review assistive technology and training.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.

Environment:Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
