Position Overview:
The Lead Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing and treating a range of mental and behavioral health conditions in an outpatient setting. This role involves providing clinical leadership supervising multidisciplinary mental health staff and ensuring high-quality patient-centered care. The psychiatrist collaborates with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans that support patient well-being and recovery.

This role involves providing clinical leadership supervising multidisciplinary mental health staff and ensuring high-quality patient-centered care. The psychiatrist collaborates with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans that support patient well-being and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations including assessment of emotional behavioral and cognitive functioning.
- Diagnose mental health disorders and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Order perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Prescribe and manage medications educating patients on proper use and expected outcomes.
- Provide individual group and family therapy as needed.
- Supervise and support mental health professionals including nurse practitioners psychologists and social workers.
- Develop and implement patient management and care plans ensuring continuity of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient services and resources.
- Review external medical records and manage co-managed care cases.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records systems.
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Provide patient and family education focused on wellness prevention and self-management.
- Participate in outreach initiatives and support patient engagement and retention efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards at all times.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
- Active unrestricted medical license (in any U.S. state or as required).
- Current DEA registration.
- Minimum 1 3 years of clinical experience treating adult patients (may vary).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
