Job Description:
- We are seeking a motivated contract technician to support surface characterization work using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
- The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of these techniques or demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to learn quickly in a hands-on laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with operation of SEM and XPS instruments for material characterization
- Prepare samples for analysis including cleaning mounting and handling
- Collect process and organize experimental data
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and instrument usage
- Support routine maintenance and calibration of instruments
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in materials science chemistry physics or a related field preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of SEM and/or XPS is a plus but not required
- Strong willingness to learn and ability to quickly acquire new technical skills
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Preferred
Skills:
- Prior experience with surface analysis or microscopy techniques
- Familiarity with data analysis software
- Good communication skills and ability to document work clearly
