Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate special education teacher to join Federal Way Public Schools on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs ensuring a positive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Provide specialized instruction in accordance with state and federal guidelines
Collaborate with general education teachers therapists and support staff
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate varying abilities
Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
Communicate effectively with parents caregivers and school staff
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching License (State of Washington preferred)
Previous experience in a Special Education setting
Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance
Excellent communication and organizational skills
