Forklift Operator

Basin Material Handling (Sturgis MI) is seeking a forklift driver with strong organizational skills. This position facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to/from various departments by performing the following duties. Experience required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Transports material or racks to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks.
• Checking loads are secure.
• Moving goods packed on pallets or on material carts around the facility.
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays following inventory control instructions.
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Dumping materials into machine scrap hoppers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the trucks battery and lubricating equipment.
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines. (machine operator is to remove attachments and reattach when finished charging).
• Safely operatesmaterial handling equipment. Ex. forklifts pallet jacks.
• Excellent Attendance
• Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance including but not limited to attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle and feel talk and hear reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
