We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager totake ownership of the maintenance function across the Mercure Paignton and ibisStyles Paignton. This is a key role within the hotels responsible for ensuringour buildings facilities and guest areas are consistently maintained to ahigh standard. Youll lead a small team manage contractors and play a vitalrole in keeping both properties safe compliant and running efficiently witha salary of 37500.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE MANAGER AT OURHOTEL

  • Take charge of maintaining our hotels highstandards ensuring every guest space facility and behind-the-scenes areaoperates flawlessly and looks pristine
  • Lead and inspire the maintenance teamcultivating a proactive and hands-on approach to repairs upgrades andday-to-day operations that support a smooth guest experience
  • Design and oversee a preventative maintenanceprogramme extending the life of equipment and facilities to avoid unexpectedinterruptions and keep everything running like clockwork
  • Collaborate with other departments to anticipateand swiftly address maintenance needs from emergency repairs to room upgradesdelivering a reliable and safe environment for guests and staff alike
  • Manage the department budget with a keen eye oncost-effective solutions tracking expenses negotiating supplier contractsand prioritising repairs and renovations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the hotelkeeping your finger on the pulse of each room common area and facility toensure safety compliance and aesthetic standards
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvementwithin the team implementing best practices and encouraging skill developmentfor efficient high-quality service
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest toolstechnology and maintenance techniques to bring fresh ideas and innovations tothe property enhancing both function and form
  • Ensurefull compliance with all statutory requirements including fire safety waterhygiene (Legionella) gas and electrical systems maintaining accurate recordsand audit readiness
  • Manage external contractors on site ensuringwork is completed safely to standard and with minimal disruption to the guestexperience

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Solid experience in a maintenance or engineeringmanagement role ideally within hospitality or a similar setting
  • Expertise in HVAC electrical plumbing andgeneral building maintenance with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record ofbuilding motivated efficient teams that deliver quality results
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and negotiatecontracts without compromising on quality or guest satisfaction
  • Organisational and multitasking abilities tojuggle a range of responsibilities and respond quickly to urgent issues
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent repairsincluding availability for occasional evenings weekends and on-call duties
  • A passion for maintaining a safewell-functioning environment that enhances the guest experience
  • Strong understanding of compliance and statutoryregulations within a hotel environment (e.g. fire safety Legionella H&S)
  • Experience managing contractors and third-partysuppliers effectively
  • Comfortable using maintenance systems tools totrack jobs and preventative maintenance
