Your New Role and Responsibilities

• Assess and advise on mechanical system capability and key technical risks including the suitability of system characteristics and performance and contribute to safety and supportability aspects of the program.

• Review technical deliverables from the projects Head Contractor including system documentation operating procedures schematics and design calculations applying mechanical systems engineering principles techniques procedures and criteria for naval ship designs.

• Engage with combat system delivery participants to address provision of combat system platform support requirements and establish the associated mechanical interfaces.

• Review and provide guidance on compliance with classification society rule sets and codes.

• Mentor and share experience and lessons with project team personnel to advance mechanical engineering skills and knowledge within the projects technical team.

• Degree-qualified mechanical or marine systems engineer with strong knowledge and experience in marine mechanical systems.

• Strong communication skills including the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision authorities and explain complex positions and issues concisely.

• Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and share experience and lessons with project team members to build mechanical engineering skills and capability within the team.

• Strong knowledge and experience in naval ship mechanical systems.

• Experience in the design and specification of marine mechanical and auxiliary systems including cooling systems.
