**Job Description:**
We are seeking a psychiatrist to provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for geriatric patients within a 20-bed specialized Geriatric-Psychiatry unit.
The candidate will work collaboratively with a dedicated Clinical Coordinator/Social Worker who has extensive training in geriatric psychiatry as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists counselors case managers psychiatrists and nurse practitioners.
The position involves participation in a weekend call rotation with a ratio of 1:6 for inpatient coverage.
The psychiatrist will focus on delivering patient-centered evidence-based interventions that address the multifaceted medical psychiatric and social needs of older adults. Additionally the role includes coordinating care in alignment with system-level behavioral health leadership and resources to ensure a cohesive treatment approach.
The ideal candidate will support a consistent full-time psychiatrist presence within the unit and must meet the following requirements:
**Requirements:**
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Possession of a New York State medical license (or eligibility)
- Active DEA license- Fellowship trained in Geriatric Psychiatry
- Clean malpractice and licensing history
- Submission of a current NPDB Self Query Report (within the last 30 days)
**Additional License Requirements:**
- Active DEA license is implied- Visa support assistance is not provided
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry is mandatory
- New York State medical license (or eligibility) is required
