Hindustani Vocal Instructor Remote Job

This is a remote position.

We are looking for passionate and skilled Hindustani Vocal Teachers who can conduct engaging online classes for students across age groups and proficiency levels. The role involves guiding learners from beginner to advanced stages building a strong classical foundation along with performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct live online classes (1:1 and group sessions) via Zoom
  
• Teach Hindustani Vocal Music across Beginner to Advanced levels
  
• Build strong fundamentals in Swar Alankar and Voice Culture
  
• Train students in Raga development Bandish Taal Alaap and Taans
  
• Guide students in improvisation expression and performance techniques
  
• Prepare students for competitions stage performances and certifications
  
• Share session summaries and practice material after each class
  
• Maintain high engagement and ensure a positive learning experience
  
• Communicate student progress with parents (for younger learners)
  

Requirements

Educational Background

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Music with specialization in Hindustani Vocal Music
  
• Formal training under a recognized Guru / Gharana / Music Institution
  
• Certification such as Visharad / Alankar / equivalent is preferred
  

Skills & Experience

• 2 years of experience teaching Hindustani Vocal Music to children and/or adults (online or offline)
  
• Strong foundation in Hindustani Music theory and practicals including:
  
  • Swar Shruti Alankars
    
  • Raga structure & development
    
  • Bandish (Bada & Chhota Khayal)
    
  • Taal & Layakari
    
  • Alaap Taans & improvisation techniques
    
• Ability to structure lessons for Beginner to Advanced levels
  
• Strong command over voice training pitch control and expression
  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for online classes
  
• Ability to keep students engaged interactive and motivated
  
• Experience in preparing students for performances competitions and certifications is a plus
  

Technical Requirements

• Stable high-speed internet connection
  
• Quiet professional home teaching setup
  
• Good quality microphone/headset and webcam for clear audio/video
  
• Familiarity with Zoom online teaching platforms
  
• Ability to use digital tools (notations tanpura apps virtual whiteboard audio sharing) effectively
