Job Summary
A Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Teacherinstructs middle school students in essential life skills including nutrition culinary arts financial literacy child development and interior design. They develop curriculum manage laboratory classrooms (kitchens/sewing labs) and prepare students for independent living and career readiness.
Core Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum:Develop and implement lesson plans covering cooking sewing family relations personal finance and consumer education.
- Classroom Management:Maintain a safe organized environment particularly when supervising culinary or textile equipment.
- Assessment & Evaluation:Grade student performance through projects tests and practical hands-on demonstrations.
- Skill Development:Equip students with practical life skills and foster critical thinking about consumer issues and family management.
- Mentorship:Guide students on personal academic and career choices.
