Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Anesthesia Technician to support the surgical services team at Upstate University Hospital. The ideal candidate will assist anesthesia providers in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma environment ensuring the safe preparation operation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supporting optimal patient care during surgical and procedural cases.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms for anesthesia procedures including setup of monitoring equipment
Assist anesthesia providers during procedures such as central line arterial line and pulmonary artery catheter placement
Set up operate and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and related equipment
Perform room turnovers and ensure readiness between surgical cases
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control practices
Clean reprocess and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies
Stock order and maintain anesthesia carts and supply areas
Support high-acuity cardiac trauma and emergency surgical cases
Ensure compliance with hospital safety quality and regulatory standards
Collaborate with anesthesia surgical and nursing teams to ensure efficient workflow
Participate in rotating shifts weekends and on-call coverage as required
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or equivalent training
ASATT Certification preferred or required based on facility policy
Current BLS/CPR certification required prior to start
35 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician preferred
Experience in a Level 1 trauma or high-acuity hospital setting strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment sterile technique and infection control
